Atlantic Beach is a closed-end community that spans only about 25 blocks from North to South.

The area farthest North of Atlantic Beach is the quaint and historic fishing village of Mayport. Home not only to a major United States Navy base, the Mayport Navel Station, the area is also home for various attractions- from Casino boats to fully operating seafood markets.  One can enjoy some freshly caught Mayport shrimp then take the Saint Johns River Ferry to the Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park which features what many consider to be Jacksonville’s favorite hiking and biking trails.
